Spring Ride

Some of the trails are in pretty bad shape...but oh so beautiful

Most main trails are at least passable but completely cleared
looks different than this!

The Hexenhaus is still standing

This side of the park did not fare any better

Throughout the forest, trees were blown over.  They seemed to
go in lines.  Probably when one fell down, it was like a
domino affect.  The damage is breathtaking.

Although most paths and trails have been cleared, not all.  This
shows what it looks like right after the storm.  I didn't dare go
into the downed trees to get a closer look.  Not only do the damaged and
downed trees have to be cleared but often neighboring trees.
Until this path is completely worked, it is off limits due to
possible falling trees and branches.

The foresters have been busy but there is still so much to do

No, I shouldn't. Yes, I did.

After yesterday's ride, I knew the other side of the park was a mess

But I also knew that I needed to try it out.  After all, the season starts
when I've done both sides of the park.

Mud, ice, slush, water...and of course, I was covered!

Oh boy was this day an adventure!

At places like this, where ice was pretty much over the whole path,
  I walked.  After all, my whole spring riding season would
 be shot if I broke an arm or a leg.

The pay off was awesome!
